2003 : Match in Homage to Marc-Vivien FOE

Shortly after the drama which occurred during the 2003 Cup of Confederations, Basile Boli paid a vibrant homage to his « cousin » Marc-Vivien FOE, by organizing a football event honoring his memory.

This event has been produced by BBE in partnership with the French Professional League of Football, and broacasted live on France Television.

The friendly match took place at the Gerland staduim in Lyon on the 11th of november 2003, in front of 35 000 viewers. It represented a special occasion to see the Cameroon National Team play against a selection of famous international players (Nicolas ANELKA, Thierry HENRY, Robert PIRES…).

The revenues generated by this event have been donated to Marc-Vivien FOE's family.
